Another Cajon Classic Cruise

Last Wednesday I stopped by my favorite little weekly gathering and admired all of the custom cars that congregated in downtown El Cajon for the Cajon Classic Cruise. If you haven't yet checked it out, you should before the final show of the season. Only a few more left!

Custom Cars Galore

Wednesday after work I stopped by the Cajon Classic Cruise in historic downtown El Cajon and took a few photos of some of the custom cars on display along Main Street. The theme was "Funny Cars", and there were so many nice vehicles it was really tough choosing which ones to photograph before all of the light from the setting sun was gone. While I was walking around, they started the "loudest engine" compettion and that was fun to hear. The winner was of course a funny car dragster. When he rev'd his engine, you not only felt the blast hit you, but it was ear piercingly loud! It was truely awesome, one of the loudest things ever.

Next week is "Famous Movie Cars'. Enjoy the photos...

What Doors Are For

So this is what happens when the chickens are out in the yard and the kids leave the patio door open. The chickens are more than happy to wander straight inside the house!

Whiskey Peep's

Today I finished hand painting the sign for the chicken coop. It was a tedious process but I'm happy with th results. I grabbed an old fence plank, lightly sanded it, and then handed painted the stenciled lettering with a VERY small brush. It definitely has a rustic look which will only get even better with time. Whiskey Peep's, East County's finest hen house is now complete!

The Spoon Travels to Balboa Park

Yesterday evening, in an effort to finish up a special assignment for a friend, I introduced the spoon to Balboa Park.

In order to get any shots at all, we had to dodge and evade several brides having their wedding photographs taken. There were so many, that for a minute I thought it might have been a bridal convention. At least five different brides I tell ya.

Anyhow, enjoy the photographs.

San Diego Skyline at Night

Last night I headed over to Coronado Island and took some pictures of the San Diego skyline looking across San Diego harbor. What a spectacular view of the city with all of the lights reflecting off the water. I was just about to call it a night when Petco Park started a firework display over the harbor in celebration of a victorious win for the San Diego Padres over the Milwaukee Brewers. What a fantastic view that was with the San Diego skyline as a back drop. Of course I threw the camera back on the tripod and got off a couple of photos. I'll have to go back more often, when the Padres are winning of course.
