Thunder on Main Street

Last night at the Cajon Classic Cruise, it was Thunder on Main Street. What's Thunder on Main Street you ask? Well, they barricade the street in downtown El Cajon from pedestrians and registered motor vehicles and then bring out vintage dragsters and let them fire up their Methanol guzzling engines and make some thunderous noise down Main Street. It may hurt your ears unless you can find some ear plugs, but it really is quite interesting to experience such beautiful machines as they demonstrate how drag racing was performed in the 1960's.

Enjoy the photos....

Flight of the Hawk

While at my daughters soccer game today, I noticed a hawk up above. With wings spread wide, it circled above us with complete freedom cutting through the air with ease.

It hunted.

It soared.

Nothing stopped it.

Beautiful.....

For the Birds

Went to Sea World for a couple of hours after work on Friday and came home with nothing all that impressive except for a bunch of birds, so the birds have it this weekend!

Back in Black

Not too many photos from the Cajon Classic Cruise car show this past week so I decided to choose a couple and go with a black theme. Enjoy...

The Big Lebowski, Artificial Light, and Water

Many of you may have spent Labor Day with family, grilling tasty food out back, or maybe even hanging out down at the beach. I however, spent most of my Labor Day with the Big Lebowski. Now before you start quoting "the dude", let me explain. I didn't actually sit in front of the TV set watching the movie, but rather, I took the DVD out of the case and started photographing it. Inspired by a wonderful photo I saw on another photographers web site yesterday, I decided to rig up some artificial lighting, splash some water on a DVD, and see what kind of color I could capture.

Let me know what you think.....

Thunderhead at Sunset in San Diego

Tonight, as the evening approached, a large thunderhead continued to build over the mountains to the east of San Diego. Not only did the massive cloud build up over the mountains, but it continually changed into a unique mushroom like formation. Check out a couple of photos taken as the sun set, casting a pink hue onto the giant thunderhead.

Full Moon Rising at the Cajon Classic Cruise

Tonight while all of the local hot rodders and classic car owners gathered in downtown El Cajon for this weeks Cajon Classic Cruise, a giant thunderhead formed over the mountains to the east. And if that wasn't cool enough, a near perfect moon rose up from behind the clouds as the setting sun started painting them different shades of pink. I think the only thing missing was actual thunder and lightning. Maybe later this week....
